Dog Home Euthanasia

We know how hard this time is for you and we want to make it as stress free as possible. We know the fear of the unknown can cause worry so we want to explain what happens clearly.

When we have confirmed a visit time, we come to your home in our home clothes which don't smell of 'the vet'. We introduce ourselves and once everyone is comfortable with us being there, we administer the first injection.

This injection goes under the skin, on the top of the neck, where a vaccination might go. We recommend at this point giving your dog a treat or a little scratch around the ears to distract them.

It contains pain releif and relaxant which will help your dog feel comforted by the sounds and smells around. Your calm, soothing voice and demenour will allow your dog to fall into a sleep while you are holding and soothing them. We move back but stay present so you don't feel worried.

Once in that deep sleep we then give the last injection, which will go into the leg vein.

We often suggest to focus on your lovely pet not on what we are doing to make the last moments really connected.

Afterwards, when we have confirmed your dog has passed, we will leave you to say goodbye without us being there and can wait outside.

Once you are ready, we will come in with a bed and blankets to wrap thm up and take them straight to our crematorium if you wish for cremation.

We offer pawprint and hair clips if you would like this too, so just let us know.
