Cat Home Euthanasia

So many of our lovely cats really dont like going to the vets, the journey is not normal for them as unlike dogs, they don't go in it often.

We have thought very hard about making the last moments for cats as peaceful as possible.

We know going to the vets is really hard on them and so coming to your home is just what's needed when the time comes to say goodbye.

When we have arranged a time, we come to your home, we come in more as a friend than a clinician so your cat doesn't feel nervous about us being there.

Once everyone is comfortable, we start by giving an injection under the skin at the back of the neck where an injection may go, to provide pain releif and relaxation. This will take 10-15 minutes to work which gives you time to sooth them into their sleep on your lap or by stroking them. WE move back but stay present so you don't feel worried. Sometimes we need a small top up once they are relaxed.

Only once they are fully relaxed, lying in your arms do we give the last injection. We dont use leg veins or clippers which cat don't like, but instead give the last injection into the tummy.

After they have passed we give you space to say goodbye without us being there.

Once you are ready and if you have requested a cremation, we will come in with a bed and blankets and tuck them in before we make the journey directly to the crematorium.
